Eastern Pennsylvania Osteoporosis Center is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of Osteoporosis and related condition.
Services
The center provides the following services:
SCREENING
Information gathering and evaluation of patient's past/present medical
history. A registered nurse will assist in completing a questionnaire
regarding risk factors for osteoporosis.
BONE DENSITY SCAN
A referring physician may request a bone density
scan to be performed on the lumbar spine (AP) and proximal femur.
This bone density scan will assist in fracture risk assessment. The clinical
information from the questionnaire along with the bone density results
will be reported to the referring physician.
CONSULTATION WITH OUR PHYSICIAN
FOR OSTEOPOROSIS
EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT
You will speak with a certified clinical densitometrist regarding the
problems of osteoporosis and to explain the interpretation of the bone
density scan. Our goal is to work with your referring physician to carry
out a total patient approach.
PROGRAM SPECIALIZATION
Our program will be specialized to your individual needs relating to nutrition,
dietary supplements, medication and physical therapy. Working with the
referring physician, we will recommend an osteoporosis prevention
and/or treatment program appropriate for you.
ON-SITE GROUP SCREENING
The Osteoporosis Center can provide on-site screenings
for businesses, organizations and clubs. Please contact us for more information
