Vitamin D

Your body uses Vitamin D to maintain normal levels of Calcium in the blood. It works by increasing the transport of calcium from the digestive tract to the blood stream. Thus, adequate calcium intake won't be as helpful as it could be if you don't have adequate Vitamin D. The adult RDA (recommended daily allowance) for Vitamin D is 400-800 IU.
